Why do we care, the extra E doesnt any to our bottle, reduce a price in its absence and gives no insight as to what the liquid inside tastes like!
There are plenty of explanations that have been proffered over the years and the rule that says the easiest answers is most likely correct, is always a great rule of thumb.
